Can my child try Little Athletics before joining?

Yes, most Cranbourne Little Athletics allow new families a week trial period before having to commit to registering for the season.

What is expected of parents?

Because Little Athletics is a totally voluntary organisation, Centres cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required. These include officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working in the canteen; to name just a few. Cranbourne Little Athletics Centre has parent duty rosters, which requires parents to select the days that suit them best to volunteer. Additional assistance is always required on the Centre committees and all parents are encouraged to become involved. Little Athletics is one of the few sports where parents can become fully involved in their child's sporting interests.

What shoes should I buy my child?

Footwear must be worn in all events, by all competing members. The Little Athletics Victoria Association does not however specify types of shoes; we do recommend 'The Athlete's Foot' for footwear advice.

Sportsco Cranbourne is a sponsor of Cranbourne Little Athletics Centre, and we encourage memebers to support their business as they support or Centre.

Do children need to wear a uniform?

Yes; all registered athletes must wear an approved Centre uniform when competing in Little Athletics competitions against other Centres.
