Relayathon - Royal Childrens Hospital


To help Mark the 40th year of Fundraising for the Royal Childrens Hospital LAVic and Cranbourne Little Athletics Centre will be holding a:
6 Hour Relaython – Saturday 12 November 2011
AT OUR HOME GROUND | CASEY FIELDS ATHLETICS TRACK
Rules:
1. Conducted on a circular Track.
a. Ideally athletes run in a designated lane.
2. Relaython commences at 6am and finishes at 12noon.
3. Any athlete, Official or Parent may participate.
*Please note only athletes are covered by Little Athletics Insurance.*
4. Each competitor must carry a Relay baton and pass onto the next competitor.
5. No stopping of competitors running or passing of the baton
6. All measurements are recorded in kilometres and metres.
7. No limit to the numbers of athletes taking part
8. No restrictions on the distance each athlete can cover &/or how many times they participate.
9. A Centre can change the baton at any distance.
a. The Centre may wish to have change boxes at every 50m or 100m or 200m or 400m.
a. Co Ordinator - Penny East - i. Will distributes the sponsor form to all members. ii. Collects sponsor forms & money by designated date. a. Ensure payment to the LAVic office by designated date (12 November 2011) b. Independent Lap Scorer c. Updater a. advises the LAVic office each hour of the laps/distance completed via one of the following methods: i. Facebook site ii. LAVic Office landline 9696 3600 or 1800 689 112 (Country only) iii. Text – LAVic mobile 0434 690 383 or Director mobile – 0418 301 419 iv. Email – office@lavic.com.au d. Marshalls will: 1. Organise drink stations for the day 2. Ensure Sunsmart policy is adhered to at each change Box & finish line. a. Sun screen b. Shade
Conducting the Event:
1. CLAC will run normal competition on the day and just utilise one lane for the Relaython.
2. Centres may wish to organise the day as a fun day by having the main event as the Relaython and other fun activities to entertain members. (Dependent on number of Volunteers)
3. CLAC will:
a. FREE breakfast – 6am to 8am (Type of Breakfast TBC)
b. Have older age groups to run first thing in the morning.
c. Shorter distances for younger age groups.
7. We will invite sponsors, Coffee vans and Just have fun.
